Architecture competition entry for a Bee Research Center in Switzerland, commissioned by the Swiss Government.

Set within a bee meadow on the Agroscope campus, the Centre L’abeille combines scientific laboratories and offices with facilities for honey and wax production.

The project aims to establish a welcoming place for both the campus community and visitors, while opening up the processes of research and beekeeping to view. A series of terraces, steps and glazed connections extends the surrounding landscape into the building, linking the laboratories with the beekeepers’ terrace and production areas. This creates a clear and continuous route through the centre, allowing visitors to experience the building while catching glimpses of the activities within.
